Here Are The Updated SOPs In Malaysia To Take Note Starting 1st June Till 14th June 2021

As the country goes into full lockdown starting this coming Tuesday, 1 June 2021 till 14 June 2021, for two weeks. Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has just announced an updated Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) that everyone should take note of during this period of time.
  • Travelling in vehicle limit to 2 pax per car
  • Travel distance with radius of 10km
  • Individuals can only head out for necessities only such as food and medical emergencies
  • Eateries and food stalls can operate but limited to takeaways, deliveries and drivethru only
  • Shopping malls are not allowed to operate, except premises involving food and beverage, groceries, convenience store and
  • Only F&B section as well as daily necessities section in hypermarkets allowed to operate
  • Laundromats, optical shops and pet shops are allowed to operate
  • Individual sports (jogging and exercising) are allowed before 8PM

Meanwhile, for those whom have previously applied for MITI letter, do take note that the letter will only be valid until 31 May 2021. The pre-approved letters will not be valid starting from 1 June 2021. New MITI letters will have to be obtained from the respective ministry.

Stay Home & Take Care

It’s more crucial than ever for everyone to stay home. With the FMCO taking effect from Tuesday, it’s highly advised for everyone to stay put. Only head out occasionally for necessities or for medical emergency. Do not panic buy as well essential sectors like supermarkets and food premises will be open. Take care and stay safe, folks!
 

With this total lockdown, all social & economic activities are not allowed except the following:

  1. Food & beverages: Takeaway only
  2. Medicine & health
  3. Water
  4. Energy
  5. Security
  6. Solid waste management
  7. Transportation
  8. Ports & airports
  9. Communication
  10. Banking
  11. Credit community
  12. E-commerce
  13. Fuel Production
  14. Hotels and accommodation: For quarantine purposes only
  15. Construction and maintenance
  16. Forestry
  17. Logistics

All manufacturing sectors are not allowed to operate, except the following sectors:

  1. Aerospace
  2. Food & beverage production
  3. Printing & packaging for food and health products, sanitization products, and medicinal products
  4. Personal care & laundromats
  5. Medicine and health
 

SOPs mentioned above will be applied to the entire country. 

Sabri also mentioned that by shutting down the majority of factories, this will significantly contribute to a decline in the number of positive cases.

All school and education centers will be closed as well.
